Insight #1: Nothing is more important than personal contacts
We were able to welcome 27 of our 39 global dealers at our stand in Munich. We were even more pleased that they did not arrive alone, but brought their customers with them. So we got valuable suggestions. Because who could give better information on the everyday suitability of our technology as their users?
Insight #2: Thrilled through technology in action
We were back again with an extensive machine park of 15 different types in Munich. And we’ve allowed more than just “inspecting” them. All the machines showed their capabilities at live demonstrations which generated a great deal of attention on all sides. When complex technology operates faultlessly even under trade fair conditions then this is more convincing than a brochure or a video.
Insight #3: It can’t hurt to ask – but increases knowledge
Krumbein attended the number one among international trade fairs for the bakery, confectionery and snack industry with a nine-person strong team. This allowed many more conversations with curious and interested parties, our dealers, customers, trade journalists, etc. than ever before. That way we gained a lot of information and suggestions, as well as learned perspectives on changing customer needs. All of this planted the seeds for new ideas, new technical solutions.
Insight #4: Courage to try something new will be rewarded
Three years ago we invented the theme “snack and sandwich production” completely new: with a consistent modular design, with the customer’s point of view in mind, with the focus on efficiency. The result – our “SnackFlexLine” – has convinced at the IBA 2018. The trade fair also showed that clever solutions for the snack and sandwich production will be more sought after in the future. Thus, we had the right instinct.
Insight #5: It is worth to think outside the box
Our new flagship machine in the range of round cakes and confectionery cutting machines, the TKSM 600 Multi, was convincing, too. It replaced the predecessor model after twelve years. For the new one we went for a concept of carry-over parts and the use of standard components similar to the automobile industry where this is applied for quite a while. The result has not only thrilled dealers – it is a compact, powerful and affordable solution.
